Generator, Design Brand

Generator Amsterdam. Rated 8.1/10 across 4,738 reviews. From €15.

Overview

Generator Amsterdam sits on Mauritskade in the Oost district, in a building that looks out over Oosterpark. It calls itself a design hotel-hostel, and the mix shows in the sleeping options: shared dorm beds sit alongside private rooms and twins, so solo travellers and pairs can book under one roof. The address is Mauritskade 57, roughly 2.37 km in a straight line from Amsterdam Centraal, and one listing places it about 2.2 km from the city centre.

Breakfast is included, and there is a kitchen guests can use. WiFi and internet access are free, and the facilities list also covers city maps, luggage storage, meeting rooms and a 24 hour reception. Free cancellation is offered, which helps if plans are still moving. In short, this is a full-service hostel rather than a bare-bones one, with both dorm and private options a short ride from the station.
